Nepal (2015) / Annapurna Base Camp

A heart’s decision to travel to Nepal in 2015. The country is hit hard in this year, earthquake, insecurity of supply, so much suffering. I simply had to travel, desire for the people, desire for the really high mountains. Overcoming my 2nd operation at my back – giving myself confidence that is it possible to travel. While arriving it is already clear that everything is somehow different. Less people, less traffic, Kathmandu seems to to be a little lethargic. The city appears with many wounds. The people, my friends welcome me warmly. I admire their bravery, their inner calm and how they move on. After a couple of days in Kathmandu I travel to Pokhara and from their into the mountains directing Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Here it’s not very busy as well, yet the people are very friendly. The ABC is a dream, what a panorama, so unreal, so beautiful. Afte that I travel back to Pokhara and Kathmandu.
